I don’t Use Bodyguards – Asiedu Nketiah

The General secretary of the opposition NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said that he has never employed the use of bodyguards in his entire political career because he is not scared of any reprisals attacks from any individual.

”Even when i was a minister of state, I never used a bodyguard and I don’t even have a watchman in my house because only people who fear retaliation for wronging other people employ bodyguards for fear of reprisal but me, I have wronged nobody to warrant fear of revenge”, he stated.

According to him, he does not have the time to be cold or hostile to anyone but will respond in equal measure to any verbal assaults on his personality.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called was speaking to Otec Fm on a reported incident of suspected armed robbery on him on the Suhum highway.

Recounting the incident on Dwabrem with Agya owusu Ansah, Asiedu Nketiah disclosed that some well-built men in masks, numbering about 6 in a black SUV with registration number GT 666-12, attempted to force his vehicle to veer off the road and even banged their hands on the car’s body.

The men, who he claims could not have been armed robbers, got scared and drove off when his friend from the Military who accompanied him approached them, after they had stopped another car to harass the driver.

”They would be amateur robbers if they had to chase me without knowing what i had in my possession, all I had in my car was yam and they would be robbing me for yam.

He claims, he called National security minister, to alert him about the incident so that he would order the police to tighten security at the various checkpoints on the road from Suhum to Accra but to no avail.
