Ebony Reign died in a gory accident at Nyamebekyere near Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South, a district in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, February 8, 2018.

According to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, her black Jeep vehicle with registration number AS 497-16 collided head-on with a KIA Grand Bird VIP bus with registration number GT3232-17 from the opposite direction.

Her body and two other occupants established to be her bodyguard and a close pal who were in the vehicle with her have since been deposited at a local hospital in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The driver, Chartey Oko is currently on admission at Bechem Government Hospital receiving treatment.

Reigns was born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.

She was raised in the urban areas of Accra and attended Seven Great Princess Academy in Dansoman before studying at Methodist Girls High School at Mamfe in the Akuapim North District.

She quit high school in pursuit of her music career.

Ebony was discovered by renowned musician and entrepreneur Bullet, of Ruff n Smooth, when she sent a recording of her voice and was signed to his Rufftown record label just a day after listening to the recording

She released her first single, “Dancefloor”, in December 2015 with a video and audio release.

The song became a hit on radio landing her a nomination for the unsung category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.

In March 2016, Ebony released her single “Kupe” which became a household anthem in Ghana and other African countries

She was signed to Ruff Town Records and Midas Touch Inc. Ebony was arrested for “indecent exposure” in April 2017 while exposing her breast while wearing a mini-skirt at a passport office in Accra as she attempted to travel to Tokyo for her concert.

She would have been 21-years-old by Friday16th February 2018.
