Konadu Apologises for stars poor performance

Coach of Black Star B Maxwell Konadu has lamented the disappointing performance of his side on Sunday when they met Burkina Faso’s Stallions in a Kenya 2018 qualifier.
Burkina Faso booked a place for the finals of next year’s African Championship of Nations after beating the Local Black Stars 1-2 in the second leg qualifier.
The first leg, which was played in Burkina Faso ended in 2-2, gave Ghanaians high hopes of qualifying to the tournament, especially after Ghana missed the last edition played in Rwanda.
An obviously disappointed Konadu told journalists at the post-match conference that: “We are sorry for disappointing the very fans who have been behind this team for a while”. “What else can we say? The boys did their best and we were trying to guide them to victory but unfortunately for us that didn’t happen.
The boys are all down, the mood in camp is not the best but we think that is football. Others have been saying you played 2-2 away and we said that our opponent has a good team.
“We tried to do whatever we could to at least to reverse the score line but that is football.
“We believe that we could have done better but we just didn’t know why we were not able to stop at least one goal. It didn’t start from defence. I don’t want to single out players so we will accept it and go to work hard to try to stop this thing from occurring again.”
