As the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for their National Delegates’ Conference over the weekend at the Central Regional capital Cape Coast, security capos have assured delegates and the people in region of adequate security.
Contrary to reports that heavily built men believed to be supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are planning to cause confusion at the venue, otecfmonline.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah reporting from the region says “the Ghana Police Service has indicated their preparedness to deal mercilessly with trouble makers”.
The Regional Police Command says they are ready to ensure the safety of lives before, during and after the conference and will ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
“Police is ready for any eventuality. …anyone or group of persons who decide to go contrary to the law will meet our match”, Regional Commander, DCOP Rev. Nenyi Ampah Benin warned.
He added that, enough personnel are currently on the ground monitoring proceedings as the D-day draws near.
Meanwhile, otecfmonline.com has gathered campaign teams of some aspirants seeking to take leadership positions in the party are currently at the conference venue to woo delegates even before nominations are opened for prospective party members.
