Severe Flooding hits some parts of the Ashanti region

Some parts of the Kumasi metropolis in experienced severe flooding following several hours of downpour on Sunday morning.

Some of the affected areas include Asabi junction, Asokore Mampong, Airport roundabout, Maakro near Atwima Agogo etc.

River Dwaher in the Atwima Nwabiagya district has also overflown it’s bank rendering residents of the area unable to cross.

However, flooding in Kumasi in last year resulted in loss of properties and lives.

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly has already demolished some wooden structures built on water ways to prevent flooding in the area but these efforts do not seem to be enough in tackling flooding in the area.
