Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council cautions the public against growing “recruitment Scams”

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has cautioned the general public against some unscrupulous people enticing the youth in the region with the promise of giving them a bright future but end up swindling those innocent persons.

According to RCC, intelligence report received indicated that there are some people operating at Apagya in the Afigya Kwabre district of the Ashanti region enticing the youth to work for them, first by registering and then give them some of their products to sell on commission basis.

This, in a press release, signed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, cautioning the general public to be vigilant not to fall prey to such scams like what happened at Atimatim in the Afigya Kwabre district in December 2017.

“You will recall that in December 2017, there was an influx of 560 youth at the Atimatim in the Afigya Kwabre district, the youth were recruited by some nine leaders to work for a company called QNET which deals with chip pendants, wrist watches, educational packages and food supplement products. After some investigation it was established that the whole exercise was a scam,” it noted.

The release also cautioned those assisting and accommodating such unscrupulous people to refrain, and will do everything possible to stop their diabolical intentions to stop reoccurrence of PYRAM and others.

“We urge you all to be wary of such scams like what we witnessed like of PYRAM, R5 among others,” it cautioned.
