KMA Boss wants churches to take advantage of investment avenues created by NPP government

The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi has called on the churches within the Kumasi Metropolis to take advantage of investment avenues created by the Nana Addo’s government and create businesses.

This, according to the Kumasi Mayor, will not only make them profits making ventures to assist their churches, also contribute to the development of the city, in addition to the development of human resources created through their doctrines.

Hon.Osei Assibey Antwi, together with some Assembly officials, made the call when he joined some churches in the Kumasi metropolis at the 31st December all-night service to usher in the New Year, 2019.

Some of the churches he visited included Bantama Church of Pentecost, Krofrom Central Baptist Church, South Suntreso Roman Catholic Church and Power Cathedral at Asuoyeboah .

Addressing some of congregations, he assured churches of government’s commitment of protecting, encouraging and assisting them in setting up of businesses in the area of credit facilities and lands.

The Mayor said the churches’ partnership with the government and the assembly is critical for building a prosperous city and nation at large.

He appealed to the clergies to use their pulpits to preach about the citizenry responsibilities of honouring their payment of taxes as one of the sources of funding for developmental projects in the city.

Sanitation

Hon. Osei Assibey said the KMA has the vision of making the city clean and green and therefore challenged the residents to abide by the sanitation bye-laws to achieve that purpose.

He bemoaned the rate at which some Kumasi residence indiscriminately dump refuse in the city and noted that the assembly is bent on punishing offenders who perpetrate such ungodly act.
