Bosomtwe NADMO supports flood victims

The Bosomtwe District National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in collaboration with Bosomtwe District Assembly has supported flood victims in the District who were affected in the recent heavy rains with relief items.

About 125 victims out of the 466 had their homes displaced.

The victims received items including cooking oil, rice, mattresses, blankets, drinking caps, drugs as well as treated mosquito bed nets.

The Bosomtwe District Chief Executive, Joseph Assuming who donated the items through the NADMO Director, Michael Yaw Nkwanta said government was much concerned about the plight of the flood victims and assured they will be supported.

About 10 lives were lost in the recent flood with the famous six Jehovah Witness family members who got drowned in their car while returning from church service at Esreso Adagya.

Mr. Nkwanta revealed that the most affected places were Esreso, Jachie and Adagya and a total amount of one hundred and twenty thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 120,000) was spent in purchasing the relief items.

He however called on all to remain calm and stay away from flood prone areas to avoid future occurrences.
