Compassion International Ghana donates GHc100k COVID 19 Trust Fund
Compassion International Ghana has made a donation of GH¢100,000 to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund as part of its support to the country in the fight against the Covid -19 pandemic.
According to the National Director of the Compassion International Ghana, Mrs. Gifty Danso Appiah the donation forms part of this continued partnership and support especially during this Covid-19 pandemic adding that, the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic needs many support from Ghanaians.
She made this known at a presentation of Cheque of a GHc100, 000.00 to the Government through the national Covid 19 Trust Fund to enable them do the fight against the pandemic at Jubilee House.
According to her, most of the people affected by the pandemic are the children and This will release the children from poverty .
Compassion International Ghana been in the system for the past 15 years and has raised a lot of support to many people. 1.7 million Ghana Cedis has spent on the children to provide food and domestic items to households. And already, 350,000 households have been served including Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs).
Mrs. Danso said, though the Government is also doing a lot to curtail the situation but as a good and committed cooperate citizens, there is the need to come together and make such donation.
“We made a donation of ¢100,000.00 to government’s Covid 19 Trust Fund so that the fight against the pandemic will be easy and we pray this one too shall pass”, she stated
She therefore urged the public, all well meaning Ghanaians, organizations and corporate bodies to come on board to help fight against the pandemic because one person cannot do the fight alone.
Former Chief Justice and Chairperson For COVID -19 National Trust Fund, Madam Sophia Akuffo Said, “I believe this goes to tell us how much the Compassion International Ghana is concerned about humanity,”
The Fund is to receive contributions and donations from the public to assist in the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable.
“Let me also thank, from the bottom of my heart, the Compassion Ghana and individuals who have already made donations to help in this fight. May God richly bless Compassion Ghana,”
