CID arrests Global Public Services boss for fraud

The owner of Global Public Services has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command for alleged crime of fraud and false pretence, who for the past two weeks, has been able to dupe persons running into thousands of Ghana cedis.

The owner of the organization (name withheld) who was arrested on Friday, June 22, 2018, approached Otec FM’s Marketing Department first week of June this year to buy airtime to run commercial that seemed to offer jobs for educated youth.

The management of Global Public Services, who were charging an initial registration fee of GHC150, was running the commercial in a purported collaboration with United Nations (UN) and the office of the Ashanti Regional Minister, to offer jobs in broadcast journalism, publishing among others.

Upon series of investigation conducted by Otec FM Marketing Department headed by Ebenezer Amankwa,  at the UN, the Office of the Ashanti Regional Minister and the Registrar General Department, it was revealed that the company’s operations were scam, the police was quickly informed and the owner was subsequently arrested, assisting the police in their investigation.
