Pure water now 60 pesewas as Sachet & Packaged Water Producers review prices
The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers Association have announced increase the prices of treated water.
The price of sachet water according to the association is expected to go up to 60 pesewas from Monday 31st October 2022.
A bag of sachet water will also now sell at GH¢ 10 from the retail trucks and GH¢ 12 to 15 from vendors depending on the location.
The association in a statement copied to OTEC News desk, also recommended that bottled water prices be increased.
“It is recommended that ice bottled water 500ml be retailed at GH¢2. 50, and iced bottled water, 750ml or medium size, be retailed at GH¢3.50.”
The reviewed prices, according to the statement, have been necessitated by the rising cost of inputs such as fuel and packaging materials, which are mainly imported and produced from petroleum sources.
“The price reviews have been necessitated by rising cost of inputs such as fuel and packaging materials which are mainly IMPORTED, increases in electricity and water which take effect from September 1, 2022”.
