Rainstorm: 27 out of 49 injured students of Ejuraman Anglican SHS discharged from hospital

Twenty-seven of the forty-seven students of Ejuraman Anglican SHS have been discharged from the Ejura Government Hospital after their school’s dining hall collapsed on them.

The structure caved in injuring 49 students in the process on Monday February 6, 2023 after a torrential downpour in the area.

The Medical Superintendent of Ejura Government Hospital, Dr Emmanuel Aboagye in an interview with OTEC News Jacob Agyenim Boateng said all but one of the students are in stable condition.

“The only severe case recorded is a fracture on the leg of a female student; she has been transferred to the Jamasi Pope John Medicare Center for orthopedic care”.

We have also requested an X-ray of the remaining students to confirm the degree of their injuries and even that, we are hopeful the rest of the students will be discharged by the end of the day”. He said.

Meanwhile calm has returned to the school with academic activities ongoing.

The National Disaster Management Organisation is already on the ground to assess damage and possible relief.
