Invisible Forces sacked Kintampo waterfall guides – Chief

Chief of Kyeremankoma, the town where the deadly Kintampo waterfall disaster occurred, Nana Effah Guarkuro has revealed that tour guides at the Kintampo waterfall site were sacked by a vigilante group in the Npp  when the party came into office.

According to Nana Effah Guarkuro, the absence of these tour guides might have contributed to the accident, which claimed the lives of about 18 students of both Wenchi Senior High School and University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Responding to these concerns on Otec fm morning show, Nana Effah Guarkuro explained that the site was being managed effectively by some chiefs in the area until some NPP foot soldiers called the invisible forces took over in hostile manner.

“It was initially managed by the Chiefs, but after the elections, some members of the NPP claimed that their government is in power and went and took over the place. We reported the case to the Police, the Regional Commander of Police was also here and I reported to him. But nobody has been there since December till this time. NPP foot soldiers have driven out the people who managed the place,” the Chief alleged.”

“When people come, they drive them to different places and told them what to do and what not to do. They have all been driven away. Nobody is there, I was only there with some press men.”

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has described the Kintampo disaster as a tragic loss to the nation.

“A huge tree fell at the top when the rains began and crashed the revelers,” an eyewitness told Starr News. “So far we have counted 19 people. Most of them are students of the Wenchi Senior High School. Others are tourists.”

About 22 others are receiving treatment at the Kintampo Government Hospital.

Dr. Bawumia who stormed the disaster site Monday morning stated that the next line of action will be taken after investigations into the accident is concluded.
