NAPO donates 150 lecture hall desks to St Louis College of Education

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South constituency in the Ashanti region, Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has donated 150 lecture hall desks to St Louis College of Education in the constituency.

The educational materials according to the Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo was to create conducive teaching and learning among the teachers and the students in the college.

The donation comes on the back of a passionate appeal made by the college management to the MP seeking provision of desks to contain four streams of students on the school campus.

Napo who is also the Minister for Energy making the presentation on Friday, January 19, 2024, said “as MP I will do everything possible within my means to improve quality education in the constituency”.

“This college, the only college in my constituency is dear to my heart and I will do everything possible within my means to see the progress and success in producing quality teachers,” he added.

The former Education minister urged the students to make sure the furniture is well kept and taken care of to prolong their lifespan.

The Principal of St Louis College of Education Monica Konnie Mensah receiving the desks thanked the minister, saying they came at the right time to alleviate the inadequacy of deaks and promised to put them into good use.

In a related development, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh also donated 14,000 exercise books and 20 teachers’ table and desks to the basic schools in the Manhyia South constituency.

“I hope the teachers will be able to sit comfortably and teach comfortably, and I hope also that if the students get the exercise books will use it for studies for your own future,” napo said as he handed the items to the schools.

The donation was received on behalf of the schools by the Kumasi Metro Director of Education, David Oppong, at the grounds of Roman Catholic Girls JHS.

Mr David Oppong commended the MP for also being there for the Metro whenever they seek assistance from the MP, and promised that the items will be used for their intended purpose.

He then advised the teachers to distribute the books straight to the children to enhance academic works among them.
