Let’s Focus On Building Stronger Party Not Flag-bearer Aspirants – Oheneba Boakye Urges NPP

Mr Thomas Oheneba Boakye, NPP-UK Branch Communications Wing Member

Mr Thomas Oheneba Boakye, a member of the NPP-UK branch communications team has appealed to party faithful and sympathisers to rather than project their individual preferences as future flag-bearer aspirants they should aspire to build a stronger NPP brand.

Speaking during a meeting with the Reading Chapter of the NPP over the weekend, Mr Boakye said the focus of all members should be to do things that will make the party attractive to those who have lost hope.

He noted that many within the diasporan branches and chapters are unhappy with the way the party lost the 2024 elections and are reluctant to play a future role.

“I humbly appeal to the rank and file of our party to concentrate our efforts in rebuilding a stronger party whose structures would enable us to select a solid flag-bearer for the 2028 general elections”, the NPP Communications Team member noted.

Issues:

Discussing some of the issues he had been privy to, Mr Boakye said he discovered that many people in the Atwima Nwabiagya and Akumadan areas of Ashanti were angry with the way delegates were influenced with money to select candidates of the party.

He noted that the mass of the people feel cheated that a select group take money to elect their favourites as candidates and when it is the turn of general elections voters are invited to vote freely.

According to him, the monetization which happens during elections within the party is killing the love of people for the NPP.

“I travelled to Ghana  to campaign in Atwima Nwabiagya and also at Akomadan and I realised that many were not convinced to vote for our candidates because they feel the delegates who selected them took money for them to vote freely when it’s their turn”, the NPP-UK member  stated.

Caution:

Mr Oheneba Boakye said rather than shouting Bawumia or Kennedy Agyapong to bring division in the party, members should learn lessons of the NPP defeat.

Disunity and disenchantment, the NPP- UK member mentioned were some of the issues that disturbed the NPP greatly in 2024.

He therefore asked the party to start from the polling station to the national level to deal with all these issues before internal elections are conducted in the future.

“I am very sure that when we are able to deal with the issues we identify from polling stations to national levels and focus our attention on building a stronger party structure even me Thomas Oheneba Boakye can lead the NPP to victory when I am elected as flag-bearer “, the UK-NPP Communications Member stated.
