Asante Mampong Traditional Council to Mark One Week Celebration for Late Chief on May 12

The Asante Mampong Traditional Council is set to mark the one-week celebration of the late Asante Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, on May 12, 2025.
This will mark the first public gathering by the traditional council since the demise of the Occupant of the Silver Stool in the Asante Kingdom.
The event will take place at the forecourt of the Asante Palace in the Ashanti Region.
The traditional council in April officially informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about the unfortunate demise, where they were tasked to organize a befitting funeral for the renowned chief.
Chairman of the Funeral Committee and the Adontenhene of the Asante Mampong Traditional Council, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, in an exclusive interview with OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Monday, May 5, said everything has been arranged for the smooth organization of the event.
He noted that the traditional council will leave no stone unturned to ensure their father and chief is honored after his demise.
Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II has urged all and sundry to mark the day and troop to Asante Mampong to support them in mourning their chief, who served Asanteman and Ghana with dignity.
