Otumfuo expresses joy over Access Bank’s female leadership

Management of Access Bank Ghana Plc has formally introduced its new Managing Director, Pearl Nkrumah, to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during a courtesy call at the Manhyia Palace on May 13, 2026.
The visit formed part of efforts by the bank’s leadership to officially present Madam Nkrumah to the traditional ruler and seek his blessings as she assumes her new role at the helm of the financial institution.
During the engagement, Madam Nkrumah is said to have shared her vision for the bank’s operations in Kumasi and the Ashanti Region, while reaffirming Access Bank’s commitment to supporting economic growth and business development in the area.
The delegation was led by the Board Chairperson of the bank, Ama Sarpong Bawuah, and also included the Head of Financial Control and Strategy, Akosua Biama Aboagye.
The meeting underscored the longstanding relationship between corporate institutions and traditional authorities in promoting development and strengthening partnerships within local communities.
The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed joy over the growing presence of women in leadership at Access Bank Ghana Plc.
Welcoming the team, the Asantehene said he was encouraged by the bank’s female-dominated leadership.
“Women are now advancing. That gladdens me. We have to continue offering them the needed assistance,” he stated.
Otumfuo urged institutions to create more opportunities for women to rise through education and professional pathways, noting that their advancement strengthens both the economy and society.
