Nkawie SHS final year student hospitalized after on-campus attack

A final year Visual Art student of Nkawie Senior High Technical School has been hospitalized after he was attacked by unknown assailants on campus.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2026, shortly after students sat for the WASSCE English Language paper.

According to information gathered by news Reporters, the attack happened at about 1:00pm.

 The victim was reportedly struck in the head with scissors and left bleeding.

The assailants, who arrived on a motorbike, fled the scene immediately after the attack.

A source at the school told our reporter: 

“Students rushed him to the Nkawie Government Hospital after seeing blood oozing from his head.”

 Panic reportedly spread through campus as students and staff responded to the incident.

Hospital authorities at Nkawie Government Hospital confirm the student is responding to treatment and is under observation.

The identity of the victim has not yet been officially released by school authorities or police.

Security personnel have since visited the school to begin investigations.

 Police say they are working with school authorities to identify the attackers and establish the motive behind the assault.

No arrests have been made at the time of filing this report.

School management says it is working with parents, security agencies, and the Ghana Education Service to ensure the safety of students as the WASSCE continues.

 Education officials have urged students to remain calm and report any suspicious activity while investigations are underway.
