6 Obuasi SHTS students arrested over attack on headmaster’s bungalow

Six students of Obuasi Senior High Technical School have been arrested in connection with an attack on the school’s Headmaster.
This was disclosed by the Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi East, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kanin, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Wednesday.
According to the MCE, the students were arrested by police after they forcibly entered the Headmaster’s bungalow following acts of vandalism on the premises.
She explained that the students claimed the Headmaster had seized their mobile phones.
In an attempt to retrieve them, they entered the bungalow unannounced to search for the devices.
Hon. Kanin said the arrest was justified because students are not permitted to bring phones to school.
She added that unlawfully entering the Headmaster’s residence to search for the phones constitutes a separate offense.
The MCE assured that investigations are ongoing and that authorities are working to restore calm on campus. She urged students to channel grievances through the appropriate school channels instead of resorting to violence.
