Obuasi SHTS closed indefinitely after students allegedly assault headmaster over ritual claims

Academic activities at Obuasi Senior High Technical School have been temporarily suspended and the school closed indefinitely following disturbances on campus.
Authorities took the decision after students allegedly assaulted the Headmaster, Mr. Abdul Razak, over claims that he was involved in ritual activities.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the area FaustiloveAppiah Kanin in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng said the move was to restore order in the school.
The students accused him of being linked to the alleged burial of a newborn baby on school grounds.
The Headmaster sustained injuries during the attack and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, KATH, in Kumasi for medical treatment.
Security personnel were deployed to intervene and restore calm as tensions escalated. The police have since taken over security at the school while investigations continue.
School authorities say the closure will remain in effect until the safety of students and staff is fully assessed and investigations into the matter are concluded.
