Ashanti Region: 89-Year-Old man burns to ashes at Aputuogya House Fire


An 89-year-old man has tragically lost his life after being trapped and burnt to death in a fire that gutted a house at Aputuogya in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred at a five-bedroom house with digital address AT-1140-4270, located near God’s Way Maternity Clinic at Aputuogya.
According to a report by the Ghana National Fire Service on Friday , the fire involved two out of the four self-contained bedrooms in the building.
A combined team from the Regional Sub-Station and the KNUST Fire Station responded to the distress call and brought the blaze under control using water.
During the operation, the crew reported and retrieved the body of Mr. Kwaku Opoku, aged 89, from the affected rooms.
Fire personnel have since commenced investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, occupants of the house have been left displaced.
