19-year-old SHS graduate found dead hanging in his room at Abesim
Grief has engulfed Abesim, a suburb of Juaben in the Ashanti Region, following the death of a 19-year-old Senior High School graduate.
The deceased has been identified as Kofi Nkansah, who had recently completed Senior High School.
The incident is said to have occurred on September 14, 2026.
Preliminary reports indicate the young man had gone to his room to rest and was later found lifeless by family members.
Family members who spoke to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng described Kofi as calm, respectful and decent, adding that he had no known misunderstanding with anyone in the community.
The Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Theophilus Yeboah, said he received a distress call about the incident and proceeded to the scene where sympathizers had gathered.
The body has been retrieved by the Police and conveyed to the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
