Asanteman COKA, Prof. Addai-Mensah, and Kwadwo Baah Agyemang endorse JFK Ahead of NPP delegates conference.

Prominent political figures and influential stalwarts within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have publicly thrown their weight behind the incumbent General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua (popularly known as JFK), ahead of Saturday’s national executive elections.

Leading the endorsements is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, famously known as Asanteman COKA alongside the former Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, and the former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang.

The high-profile endorsements come at a critical juncture for the ruling NPP as delegates assemble to elect key national officers who will steer the party’s administrative machinery, oversee internal reorganization, and spearhead campaign efforts ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

Endorsements & Statements:

Speaking at a recent interdenominational thanksgiving service in Kumasi, Chairman Odeneho praised JFK for his steadfast loyalty, administrative acumen, and dedication to party cohesion throughout his initial tenure.

He noted that JFK’s humility and willingness to listen have been crucial in driving the party’s structural reforms.

“There is nothing wrong with declaring that Kodua should be retained. He has served with distinction and deserves another term to lead our administrative restructuring and position the NPP to recapture political power in the upcoming general elections,” Chairman Odeneho declared.

Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah:

Adding his voice to the growing support, Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, a Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and former KATH CEO, highlighted JFK’s growth and composure under pressure.

He urged delegates to vote en bloc to maintain continuity in the party’s leadership.

“JFK has used his first term to learn, adapt, and master the demands of the office,” Prof. Addai-Mensah noted.

He added that, “having successfully managed the initial phase of our ongoing party reforms, he possesses the right temperament and experience to lead the administrative effort needed to secure victory in 2028.”

Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang:

Expressing strong optimism, former MP Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang stated that ground feedback from across the constituencies indicates widespread grassroots satisfaction with JFK’s accessibility and responsiveness to party welfare.

“Having accompanied the incumbent General Secretary on his campaign tours, the feedback from delegates is overwhelmingly positive. They appreciate his listening ear and commitment to their welfare,” Hon. Agyemang stated.

He noted that, “I wholeheartedly endorse JFK, and I am confident that delegates from Asante Akyem North and across the country will vote en bloc for him. Out of the candidates contesting for the Chief Scribe position, he remains the most qualified.”

Context and Outlook

Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua faces competition from three other aspirants in Saturday’s poll for the coveted position of Chief Scribe.

However, with solid backing from key party heavyweights he is good to retain his position as General Secretary on Saturday.
