Kumasi to experience ‘dumsor’ from October 30 to November 29

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have announced planned power outages in parts of Kumasi from Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 29, 2026, to facilitate the completion of a transmission line upgrade project.
The outages will affect communities along the 161kV Anwomaso-Ahodwo (K1-K2) transmission line route, where work on the project has reached 70 per cent completion.
According to GRIDCo and ECG, the work requires temporary interruptions in electricity supply to protect engineers, other personnel working on the project and members of the public.
Affected communities will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on scheduled days when work reaches their respective sections of the transmission line.
The companies indicated that ECG would publish a detailed schedule showing the communities to be affected and the corresponding outage dates to help consumers prepare for the interruptions.
GRIDCo and ECG acknowledged that the outages could inconvenience households, businesses and other electricity consumers, and appealed for patience and cooperation throughout the period.
The companies apologised for the inconvenience and assured the public that they remained committed to completing the project safely and within the scheduled timeframe.
