A/R: 28-year-old drug store operator arrested for sleeping in coffin for three days in alleged money ritual

A 28-year-old drug store operator has been arrested for allegedly sleeping in a coffin for three days in a suspected money ritual at Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The suspect, identified only as Foster, was reportedly caught in the coffin by a hunter at the community’s cemetery on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

According to residents, the incident has thrown the entire Foase community into a state of shock and fear, with many describing the act as strange and disturbing.
Some residents, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter, Kwame Agyenim, said the hunter saw the coffin in an open space at the cemetery and suspected foul play.
They explained that upon seeing the coffin, the hunter became suspicious because it was not buried and had been placed openly at the cemetery.
“After seeing the coffin, his dogs ran to the coffin, so the hunter pointed his gun at the coffin and threatened to shoot whoever is in it, only for the man to come out of it,” a resident recounted.
Fortunately, a herbalist in the area who was on his way to get herbs was also close to the area, and together with the hunter, they brought the suspect to the community.
Upon arrival in the community, residents gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the suspect, while others called for the police to intervene.
The suspect has since been handed over to the police in the area to assist with investigations into the alleged ritual.
