Update: Gas explosion extends to 2 filling stations

A massive gas explosion has occurred at Atomic Junction near Madina in Accra, otecfmghana.com gathers.

It is unclear what caused the accident but sources say the explosion occurred from a gas filing  station near the total fuel station.

The fire has reportedly spread to all two fuel stations at the area.

The extent of damage is not yet known but  eyewitnesses say an ambulance has just left the scene with people believed to have been injured.

Officials of the fire service have arrived at the scene.
