Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has appealed to residents in the region to respond to insults on prominent Asante individuals with massive votes for the party.
Chairman Wontumi made this call during a press conference in Kumasi on Thursday, citing unprovoked attacks on notable NPP members and supporters of flagbearer Dr. Mahamadu Bawawia ahead of the 2024 polls.
He urged voters, particularly in the Ashanti Region, to reject individuals engaging in insult politics and vote overwhelmingly for the NPP.
Emphasizing the party’s commitment to clean campaigning, Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in winning the elections without resorting to insults.
