Justin Kodua condemns MPs, MMDCEs for endorsing Dr Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong and other aspirants

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has condemned some Members of Parliament for openly declaring their support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

Frimpong also criticized over 200 former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for endorsing Kennedy Agyapong.

According to Mr Justin Koduah, these moves could negatively impact the party’s arrangements and breed disunity ahead of the 2028 polls.

Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s “Dwabrem” show, Frimpong urged all party members to be law-abiding.

Mr Justin Koduah warned that the party would sanction any individual who brings its name into disrepute.

He emphasized the party’s resolve to put in place pragmatic measures to ensure victory in the 2028 polls.

The party’s National Executive Council has announced that the presidential primaries will be held on January 31, 2026.

Mr Justin Koduah ‘s comments come as the party prepares for a crucial period in its electoral process.

The NPP’s leadership is expected to provide further guidelines on the primaries, including nomination procedures and campaign timelines, in the coming weeks.

Mr Justin Koduah ‘s call for party members to adhere to the rules has been seen as a bid to maintain unity and cohesion within the party.
