112 Arrested for Sanitation Offences in Ashanti Region-Dr Frank Amoakohene

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has announced the arrest of 112 individuals for various sanitation-related offences in the region.

These individuals were apprehended for engaging in unsanitary activities that contravene the laws of the land and are currently facing prosecution.
In a televised address on Sunday, August 17, 2025, Dr. Amoakohene cautioned residents to adhere to the law and maintain cleanliness in the streets.
He emphasized that his administration will not tolerate any acts of indiscipline that compromise the region’s sanitation.
The Minister noted that President John Dramani Mahama has tasked him with ensuring the region’s cleanliness, and he is committed to achieving this goal.
As part of this effort, local sanitation groups and companies that have been assisting in cleaning towns and communities will receive government support through contracts to enhance their services.
Dr. Amoakohene assured the public of his commitment to inclusive governance and collaboration to drive the region’s development.
He noted Continuous updates will be provided on the trial of the arrested individuals.
