Helicopter Crash: Sikaman residents disappointed over government’s failure to recognize their retrieval efforts

Residents of Sikaman in the Adanse Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region are expressing disappointment and frustration over what they perceive as the government’s failure to recognize their efforts following the recent helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.

According to the Unit Committee Chairman, Hon. Kwame Seth, despite the crucial role residents played in retrieving the bodies from the mountain and handing them over to security officials, they have been completely overlooked in the aftermath.

Speaking on OTEC 102.9 FM’s Dwabrem show,on Monday, Hon. Seth noted that while they are not demanding much from the government, they expect some form of recognition for their contributions.

He emphasized that the residents, particularly those involved in the retrieval process, deserve to be acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts.

The residents have therefore called on the government to recognize their contributions and show appreciation for their role in responding to the tragic event.

They believe this would be a fitting gesture, given the significant part they played in the aftermath of the crash.
