Asanteman Council bans indecent dressing ahead of Asantehemaa’s One-Week Observation

The Asanteman Council has issued strict guidelines on dressing ahead of the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

In line with tradition and respect for the solemn occasion, the Council has banned indecent dressing, with a particular emphasis on prohibiting high-heeled shoes and long artificial nails during the ceremony.
The directive was announced by the Queenmother of Kokofu, Osagyefo Kusiwa Muah-Baayie, who has assumed the role of acting Queenmother of Asanteman.
Speaking to OTECNEWS, she explained that the restrictions are meant to preserve the dignity and cultural sanctity of the event.
“We expect all mourners to dress decently and modestly. This is a sacred moment for Asanteman, and everyone must comport themselves in a manner befitting our customs,” she stated.
The one-week observation, which will attract dignitaries, chiefs, and mourners from across the country, is expected to showcase the rich traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom while paying homage to the late Queenmother.
