Dr. Charles Dwamena,National Treasurer for the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)

The National Treasurer for the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena, has dismissed claims that the party is broke.

Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon Political show Dwabrem on Monday, Dr. Dwamena urged the public to disregard reports that the NPP has no money to finance its activities.

“This assertion that, the NPP is collecting dues because the party is broke is false,” he said.

Just as it rains in the sea, that’s how even rich businessmen do, they always work to ensure they have enough to run their business.

“The Party’s decision to collect dues is to ensure the party is self-financed because paying dues makes the members a bonafied members of the party,” he added.

“And it’s now more critical because failure to collect the dues will allow the few rich people to hijacked the party because they are the ones supporting the party financially,” Dr. Dwamena explained.

He called on all party members to ensure they pay their dues to ensure the party is self-sufficient.
