3 arrested for stealing from accident-truck in Kwahu-Fodoa

Three individuals have been apprehended by police in connection with the theft of goods from a container truck involved in an accident on a major highway in the Eastern Region.
The truck, carrying a load of sardines, was traveling from Accra to Kumasi when it overturned at Kwahu Fodoa in the Kwahu West Municipality after hitting a deep pothole.
The accident which occured on Tuesday saw hundreds of boxes of goods scattered at the scene
While Good Samaritans were assisting to clear the wreckage, the suspects allegedly took advantage of the situation to steal some of the cargo.
An eyewitness, Ayisetu Wahab, recounted the incident, stating, “The truck hit a pothole and overturned, and while people were helping to move it, these individuals were busy stealing the sardines.”
The driver and his mate, who were onboard the vehicle, have been admitted to Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for treatment.
The arrested suspects are currently assisting police with investigations.
