Kronum-Heman youth threaten to lynch man arrested for allegedly sodomizing over 20 boys
Some aggrieved youth of Kronum-Heman in the Ashanti Region have vowed to lynch a 34-year-old man accused of sodomizing over 20 boys in the area.
A viral video on social media captured the youth searching the suspect’s room with sticks and machetes, warning they will take the law into their own hands if he returns to the community.
The suspect, identified only as Akoto, has been arrested by the Kodie Police for allegedly sodomizing the boys.
A community source told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, that authorities had intervened to stop the youth from destroying the suspect’s house.
“Even with the intervention of the unit committee members, asking for the law to take its course, youth in the area are still aggrieved, vowing to beat the suspect to death,” the source said.
Police at Kodie have commenced investigations into the matter. The suspect is currently in custody assisting with investigations. Residents say the affected boys are between the ages of 13 and 17.
Speaking to OTEC News on Monday, May 11, 2026, a resident, Mr. Seth, disclosed that two boys have so far confirmed that the suspect had carnal knowledge of them.
According to Mr. Seth, after the incident came to light, dozens of boys have now come forward alleging the suspect engaged in the same act with them.
“If I am not mistaken, over 20 boys in this area are alleging that the suspect has taken them through the same act,” Mr. Seth said.
He added that the suspect was apprehended by residents and reportedly confessed to unit committee members that he had been dating one of the boys for six months. The identity of the boy has been withheld
