Ejura-Kumasi Highway: Sataso diversion road opens as bridge work progresses

Commuters from Ejura, Atebubu, Sekyere-Dumase and surrounding communities have been reconnected to Mampong, Kumasi and other parts of the Ashanti Region following the completion and paving of a diversion road at Sataso.

The new route restores access after heavy rains washed away the bridge on the main road, cutting off motorists and pedestrians for weeks.

Providing an update on Monday, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene said construction of the Sataso Bridge is advancing steadily.

“This is a beautiful opportunity to update the good people of Sataso and surrounding communities that construction of the Sataso Bridge is progressing steadily,” Dr. Amoakohene stated.

“The diversion road has been fully paved to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians while work continues on the main bridge.”

The Minister also expressed gratitude to residents for their patience during the disruption:

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this important project takes shape. Thanks to JM and the Road Minister for their support in making this possible.”

Authorities say the paved diversion will ease transport of goods and people between the northern parts of Ashanti and Kumasi while engineers complete work on the permanent bridge structure.
