A/R:  Woman, 27, found hanging in bush at Anyinamso No. 1; police launch investigation

An unidentified woman believed to be 27 years old has been found dead in a bush at Anyinamso No.1 in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, the body was found hanging on a rope tied to a tree.

It is believed to have been there for three days before it was discovered.

The Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Sampson, confirmed the incident to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Monday.

He revealed the deceased is not a known resident of the area and suspects it was a murder.

“I suspect foul play in this whole situation and am glad police has taken over the investigation,” he said.

The body has since been buried by traditional leaders, officials from the Environmental Protection Department, and the Mpasatia Police Command.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased and the cause of her death.

The incident has left residents in fear and panic.

The traditional authorities, “Nananom”, are therefore urging the public that if anyone has a daughter who has been missing for the past three days, they should come forward.

They are to report to the palace to be shown the burial site for possible identification.

Police have also appealed to anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to contact the Mpasatia Police Command.
