Various Asante-oriented groups and concerned stakeholders in the Ashanti Region have declared their support for Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Asanteman COKA, for the position of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
In a statement signed by Convenor Eric Wiafe Akenteng on Friday , the groups including Mponponsuo, Asante Heritage Club, Asante Institute, and Asante Kotoko Society said the NPP’s communication structures in the region have faced significant challenges over the past 12 years.
According to them, this created a communication gap that allowed misinformation and negative narratives to gain ground, especially ahead of the last general elections.
The statement noted that the rise of social media has changed political communication, but the party’s structures in the region have not received the needed resources, research, coordination and strategic attention to engage this growing constituency effectively.
The groups said the upcoming regional election on Saturday, August 15, 2026 presents an opportunity to rebuild and strengthen the party.
They described Odeneho Kwaku Appiah as accessible, responsive, experienced and committed to working with party structures.
They believe he has the leadership qualities needed to restore confidence, strengthen grassroots structures, and refocus the party on the collective interests of members and supporters across the Ashanti Region.
The statement therefore urged all delegates to vote massively for Odeneho Kwaku Appiah to help build a stronger, more coordinated and more effective political base for the NPP in the Ashanti Region.
