40-year-old trader found dead in her room at Tanoso

A 40-year-old trader has been found dead in her room at Tanoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, identified as Anita, is suspected to have died four days before her body was discovered by co-tenants.

Body Discovered After Stench

The Assembly Member for the area, Aron Nandie, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim said the deceased’s body was discovered following an unpleasant stench from her room on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

“I was informed about the situation upon reaching the scene, I learned the deceased went to sleep Sunday and was not seen again,” he said.

He noted they invited police and environmental officers from the Kwadaso Assembly, who have conveyed the body to the morgue.

Investigations Underway

According  preliminary investigation , the woman is suspected to have died approximately four days before her body was discovered.

However, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.

Further details are being sought as information emerges.

He said the death has caused fear and panic, with residents urging police to investigate and find out what killed the deceased.
