Landlord and son arrested for murder at Wasa Akropong; their farm and house set ablaze

A 75 year old Landlord, Mallam Abrahim, and his son, Kwadwo Ibrahim, 24, are in the grips of Wasa Akropong Police for butchering to death a 52-year-old tenant, Atta Kwesi Appiah at Mallam Kurom, a village at Wasa Adiembra, a farming community in the Wasa Amenfi East district of the Western region, on Friday February 16, 2018.
Otec News’ reporter Kwabena Anyansabea at Wasa Adiembra said the reason behind the killing was not immediately known, but the suspects accused each other of the murder of the deceased when questioned by the police.
He also reported that Mallam Ibrahim’s cocoa farm and his house were set ablaze by the residents over suspicion that he killed the tenant (Kwasi Atta), the same evening the suspects were arrested.
“The residents are now incensed t and have promised to burn the suspects alive if they dare come back to the village, they believed that they are behind the death of one of his tenant who passed away mysteriously two weeks ago,” he added.
They are assisting the police in the investigation, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at Wasa Akropong Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
