Bosome-Freho DCE gives cocoa and cashew seedlings to farmers

The District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho District in the Ashanti region, Yaw Danso , has presented hundred thousand (100,000) seedlings of cocoa and sixty thousand (60,000) cashew seedlings to the farmers in the district under the government’s flagship Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) project.
Mr. Danso in an interview with Otec news said President Nana Akuffo Addo after assuming office indicated that, he will help the farmers in the country to produce more to feed the country and export some for foreign exchange that is why he brought planting for food and jobs.
He further stated that government has added the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) project which is currently being supervised by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
He said they over 100 people people have been employed to take care of the seedlings whilst about forty thousand (40,000) farmers are going to benefit from the project this year.
The DCE added that the number of beneficiary farmers would be increased in the coming years.
