DCE sends 99 workers home for reporting to work late
The District Chief Executive of Birem North, Mr. Raymond Nana Damptey, on Monday May 28th, 2018 sent about 99 out 110 workers home for reporting to work late.
The workers who are habitual latecomers he noted have been warned on several occasions but have failed to abide by the laid down procedures that govern their work.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio, the DCE said, the affected workers have been cautioned and they promised to turn over a new leaf, however, the affected workers failed to report to work so I directed them to go home yesterday.
Narrating the circumstances that led to his action the DCE said, ‘’we were not pleased with their attitude towards work. We have complained on several occasions but they have failed to obey our rules and regulations.
What happened yesterday was to serve as a deterrent and they have been cautioned and should they repeat this same mistake, they will be dismissed.’’ According to him, more than 80 percent of his staff reported working on time today [Tuesday] due to the action he took yesterday [Monday].
