NASPA welcomes 60% allowance increase
The leadership of the Greater Accra National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has expressed gratitude to government and the Board of the National Service Secretariat for the upward adjustment of their allowances.
Government has approved a 60% increase request in the allowance of National Service personnel which will ensure personnel of the service receive a monthly allowance of Ghc559 instead of Ghc350 starting from January 2017.
In a press statement, the association welcomed the move and expressed optimism that the reduction will help reduce the numerous challenges the service personnel encounter all over the country especially Greater Accra.
“We believe the scheme has shown much good faith in dealing with the issue of allowance increment which became a topical issue between the scheme and the Association” the statement said.
The Association also congratulated the president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and the Npp on their victory in the elections, and pledged to support his administration.
“ We sincerely hope they greatly administer the affairs of this country and the challenges that cloud personnel’s service to Mother Ghana”
