Kumasi Central Female Prison Appeals for help
As part of the of the international women’s day celebration, ASP Richard Bukari PRO for the Ashanti Regional Prisons service has appealed to the Government and cooperate bodies to come to the aid of women in Kumasi central prison.
ASP Bukari said that, five women out of 45 women in central prison are currently under National Vocation and Training Institute (NVTI) but need 5000 Ghana cedis for them to continue their training.
According to him, these women are trained in various vocations which include dressmaking, hairdressing, bakery and soap making but inadequate financial support from government has made it impossible to provide certificates for the women.
He therefore appealed to Government and corporate bodies to come and support them as such training will change provide the women with skills that can be used to help the country.
Speaking to Otec news’ Jacob Agyenim Boateng, ASP Bukari cautioned women who have freedom to be careful not to end up in prison because it would waste their productive lives and also deny them access to most important positions in the society.
He congratulated women and praised them for their care for humanity.
