Man who allegedly stabbed his pregnant wife to death dies in police custody

Reports reaching OTEC News desk indicates that the 40-year-old man who was arrested for allegedly stabbing his pregnant wife to death at Nyankyerenease a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has died.
The deceased, Maxwell Boadi was reportedly stabbed his 5-month old pregnant wife multiple times to death on Saturday October 16, 2021 following a scuffle between the couple.
Maxwell who had been on the wanted list of the Ashanti Region Regional Police Command over the death of Priscilla Owusu, 31 was subsequently arrested at his hide out at Kodie.
The suspect was sent to the Suntreso Government Hospital to recieve treatment after police suspected some abnormalities in his body upon arrest.
Speaking to OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng, brother of the deceased (Priscilla Owusu) Mr Opoku Mensah disclosed that they suspected the man to have committed suicide by allegedly drinking a poisonous substance after killing his wife.
He died on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
According to the police, the suspect fell sick after his arrest from his hideout and was taken to the Sunkyereso Government Hospital for treatment.
However, his condition became worse after he was identified to have taken a poisonous substance in a bid to commit suicide after killing his wife.
