Akufo-Addo reassures G/A chiefs of 2 harbours

nana-addddPresident-elect Nana Akufo-Addo has reiterated that he will ensure that the promises he made to the electorate prior to the 2016 elections are implemented.

Mr Akufo-Addo, who was speaking during a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs at Dodowa on Tuesday, December 13 to thank the traditional rulers for their role in his electoral victory, maintained that his promise of a fishing harbour in Teshie and Jamestown, both in the Greater Accra, as well as other campaign promises will be honoured.
“I came to thank you the chiefs and also assure you that all the things that I promised were not mere rhetoric, but whatever happens the harbour in Jamestown, Teshie, and all those things are going to be done to bring prosperity to Ghana,” he stated.

He requested for the full support of the chiefs and their followers in order to transform the country during his tenure as the president of Ghana.

“My work will not be successful without wise men to guide me. You are the traditional rulers of the state, so if there is an issue, don’t hesitate, my doors are wide open to you the chiefs and the people,” he indicated.

He urged the chiefs to play active roles to ensure that Ghana achieves success from 2017, adding: “The Black Star of Africa has to shine for everybody to progress in our country.”

Mr Akufo-Addo beat sitting president John Mahama and five other candidates by securing 53.85 per cent of valid votes to become Ghana’s fifth president in the Fourth Republic.
