NDC Using EC Row to Divert attention – Hon. Collins Owusu

Member of parliament for Manhyia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaah has said that the NDC wants to use the EC row to divert attention of Ghanaians from the good works and policies of president Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

Some members of the minority have alleged that the petition for the impeachment of Madam Charlotte Osei originated from the flagstaff house.

But Hon. Collins Owusu believes that the NDC wants to cash in on the fact that the npp was at variance with some actions of the EC chair ahead of the 2016 polls, to blame the governement for the impeachment calls against Madam charlotte Osei.

He described such comments as divertionary tacticst on the part of the National Democratic congress and a ploy to make the government of President akufo-Addo unpopular

”Charlotte Osei being at post did not affect our election fortunes and she remaining at post will also not affect our fortunes in the next elections, so we have no reason to push for her impeachment”.

According to him, the row at EC has political, economic, social and international repercussions on the country and as such requires that government takes a critical look at it.

He reminded Ghanaians that government policies such as planting for food and jobs are ongoing and deserve publicity because of the many benefits Ghanaians will derive from them, and not this EC row which the NDC is using to divert attention.
