No Jobs left in State Machinery – Akufo-Addo

The president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that there are no jobs available for party members in the state machinery at the moment.

Speaking at the 25th Annual delegates conference of the NPP in the central regional capital of cape coast, UCC campus, the president noted that some party members who expected to migrate into state offices from party positons might be disappointed.

President Akufo-Addo said that he assembled his government by the help of former president John Agyekum Kufuor in the fastest period of time than any government in the 4th republic with the aim to take over the state machinery and make it respond to the various development programs the party had put before the people of Ghana.

”in so doing, many people migrated from party positions into offices in the state but there many who had wished that they had done so as well and feel disappointed that they couldn’t do so”, he lamented.

According to him, it is not possible for all party members at any one time to get jobs in the state machinery, adding that, there are not enough jobs in the state machinery to accommodate everyone in the party.

”Let me repeat it, there are not enough jobs in the state machinery to accommodate us all, but if we stay in office long enough, everybody will have a chance”, he emphasized.

”We came not to create jobs in the state, we came to create jobs in the private sector…that is our mantra, that is our vision…we will leave creation of jobs in the state sector to the socialists who want everything to be dominated by the state, that is not our vision for Ghana”, he reminded.

He stated that his government’s vision for Ghana is about a thriving economy built on the enterprise and the energy and the initiatives of the private sector that is the Ghanaian people.
