Security in Ghana, from bad to worse – Asiedu Nketia

The general Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has bemoaned the security situation in the country under the Akufo-Addo government which he claims is moving from bad to worse.

According to him, development is impossible to achieve when there is no security in the country, adding that, ''we are watching them to see if they can do something about it.''

''That is where they really have to pay special attention to because when it comes to issues on security, it does not take a year to solve'', he noted.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly scheduled a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to discuss issues of security across the country after the alleged encounter of Mr. Nketia with armed men in Suhum in the Eastern.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called explained that unprecedented crimes have been commissioned under president Akufo-Addo's 8 months in office, including the attack on a court of law after which suspects were allowed to go scot-free.

''All these acts started in the name of jubilations, after the NPP won the 2016 elections and party leaders failed to call their supporters to order but rather came out to defend vigilante groups as protecting state property'', he noted.

He charged government to be vigilant and up it's game on national security, especially at a time when some western countries have named Ghana as a possible target for terrorists.
