Asokwa NPP Chairman vows to unseat Chairman Wontumi

The longest-serving constituency chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Robert Asare Bediako, has declared his intention to challenge Mr Benard Antwi Boasiako for the upcoming Ashanti Regional chairmanship position of the party.
Speaking in an interview with OTECFM’S flagship programme dubbed ‘’Nyansapo,’’ Mr Asare Bediako said the time is ripe for an experienced hand to be in the helm of affairs of the party as regional chairman.
This, he intimated will ensure the NPP properly consolidate and safeguard the political power its members and sympathizers collectively won in the 2016 general elections.
The Regional Chairman hopeful indicated his desire to ensure every regional, constituency and polling station executive of the party is provided adequate opportunity to serve and function in the offices they occupy.
Outlining his vision to this reporter, Chairman Bediako noted his desire to make the Ashanti NPP a more vibrant and united front.
According to him, the party needed everybody to showcase his or her talent as well as expertise in the offices they occupy rather than allowing a ‘one man show’ syndrome in the party.
Mr Asare Bediako, a veteran leader who has held the Chairmanship of the Asokwa NPP for 24 years and Chairman of Chairmen in the Ashanti Region for a long period promised to operate a transparent administration where every elected official would be assigned roles to play.
The aspiring regional chair promised to make the 1st and 2nd Vice chairman position in the party relevant since each of them will be playing active roles either as director of operations or director of finance when he wins the upcoming polls.
