The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has promised to win every seat in the region to the party.
Chairman Wontumi on Thursday March 22, 2018, took his tour to the Ejura- Sekyedumasi constituency to solicit for votes from delegates for the upcoming regional elections slated for 21st April, 2018 at Ejura in the Ashanti region.
Speaking to some party executives at Ejura, he said my aim as a chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti is to win 96 percent of votes and win the entire parliamentary seats. What I need as a chairman is result and so I’m not even bothered about anyone trying hard and wasting time to contest me.
“I will make sure I win every seat in the Ashanti Region for our great party,” he said.
According to him, winning every parliamentary seat in the region is part of his main agenda before he exits office.
Out of the 47 seats in the region, the NPP won 44 while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won 3 at the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The three seats won by the NDC are Asawase, Ejura-Sekyedumase and Sekyere Afram Plains.
The party, he said, will also capture all the 47 Parliamentary Seats for the NPP in Ashanti Region.
“I know even the NDC members will vote for me because they know what I am capable of doing”, he bragged.
Chairman Wontumi promised to unite the rank and file of the party, especially at the grassroots level in the region – which is the party’s strong fortress – so that victory 2020 would be a done deal for the NPP.
Some of the constituencies he visited yesterday were the Mampong, Nsuta Beposo, Agona, Kwabre East & Manhyia South respectively.
